Jim is a highly experienced, dedicated Physical Therapist, and is a long-standing member of the American Physical Therapy Association. He enjoys working with people of all ages and prides himself on providing direct, one-on-one care, to all of this patients and clients. His area of specialty is Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation where he uses a unique blend of manual therapy techniques, modalities, and the use of therapeutic exercise to reduce pain, improve posture, and restore functional mobility and performance.
Jim was born and raised in Aptos and graduated from Aptos High School in 1982. He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1988 with a degree in Physical Education and completed his advanced training in Physical Therapy from CSU Fresno in 1994.
His experience includes inpatient and outpatient care at Valley Medical Center in Fresno as part of the Orthopedic Team. There, he gained valuable experience in one of California’s busiest Acute Trauma Centers. Later he worked seven years at Watsonville Community Hospital as the lead Outpatient Physical Therapist and eventually moved into an administrative position as the Director of Rehabilitation Services. Jim has continued his education throughout his career by taking extensive continuing education courses to further his clinical skills and knowledge base. In 1998 he completed a year-long course in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. In 2004, he passed the American Physical Therapy Association’s Clinical Specialist Examination to become a Specialist of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He is one of only 3,000 Orthopedic Specialists in the United States.
